About Me

I am a qualified teacher of French with a PGCE in Secondary Modern Languages
and extensive experience teaching pupils in secondary schools in England.

In addition, I hold a TEFL certificate and have taught English in language schools both
in the UK and in Bordeaux, France.

I now specialise in teaching French to adult learners, currently working with
Cornwall Council and previously with Somerset Council, where I created and
delivered my own French courses at Beginners, Improvers, and Advanced
Conversation level.

My teaching approach combines structured learning with
practical communication skills, helping learners build confidence in using French in
real-life situations.

Before moving fully into teaching, I worked in export and customer services for
several international companies, including Procter & Gamble, Mulberry, and the
French company Sofab.

This experience has given me a strong understanding of
how languages are used professionally and in international workplace settings.

I am passionate about languages and especially about inspiring learners to enjoy
using French in everyday life — whether for holidays, work, travel or personal
enrichment.

I also enjoy helping students discover the culture of France and the
wider importance of French throughout the Francophone world.

My courses provide a solid grounding in grammar while steadily extending
vocabulary through topic-based learning and authentic, real-life scenarios.

Above all, I aim to create a friendly, supportive and engaging environment in which
learners feel encouraged to practise and progress at their own pace.

Bienvenue et bonne chance!
